Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will be sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering isolated damage to his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in the 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund yesterday.
The club announced today that the 25-year-old’s injury appears less serious after further examination, but he will miss at least six to eight weeks (ending his season and putting him doubt for the Euros).
Henderson was substituted at half-time for Joe Allen once it became clear he could not carry on with the Reds still up 1-0.
In the first half, Henderson came off the field, which most hoped was his plantar fasciitis acting up again at worst.
He came back on to give it another go, but it appears he may have just made it worse.

The Englishman will not require surgery which would have definitely ruled him out of the Euros and possibly the pre-season.
Although struggling to find form as of late, Henderson was playing well against one of the hottest clubs in Europe at the moment.
With no other major injuries recently, Klopp hopes to have everyone back to full fitness by the start of next season.
