International fixtures round-up

These past few days, international matches have been sprinkled with Liverpool players, here’s how they fared for their international teams.

Beginning with the English national team, all of Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Adam Lallana, and James Milner started for the Three Lions in their 0-0 draw against Ireland.

And today, against Slovenia, Sterling and Henderson started whilst Lallana entered from the bench and picked up an assist in their 3-2 victory in Slovenia.

Sticking with Britain, Joe Allen played the 90 for Wales again as they took a huge step in qualifying for the European Championships next summer, beating Belgium 1-0.

Divock Origi and Simon Mignolet were unused substitutes at the Millennium Stadium in Wales.

Meanwhile in South America, Philippe Coutinho scored his first ever international goal in Brazil’s second to last tune up for the Copa America, beating the keeper near post at a tight angle, just before his 23rd birthday. He started again in their final warmup for the tournament.

Sebastian Coates was an unused substitute in Uruguay’s opening Copa America match.

Mamadou Sakho played the full match in France’s shock 1-0 friendly defeat at the hands of Albania.

Another defender, Martin Skrtel, was in action for Slovakia as they beat Macedonia 2-1.

A week ago, Lazar Markovic entered as a substitute and scored in Serbia’s 4-1 win over Azerbaijan, his third ever international goal.
