Joel Matip has admitted that a return to the Bundesliga could be on the cards in the future, however, he is happy with Liverpool at the moment.
That was revealed in an interview the Cameroon centre-back did with African Football, where he revealed that a move back to Germany could be an option for him later down the line.
He said:
In football, nothing is impossible. Currently I have [had] two years contract with the Reds. After initial difficulties and injuries, I feel comfortable in Liverpool now.

The 27-year-old’s deal with the Reds expires in June 2020 and a renewal has not yet been offered to the 6ft 4in defender.
Matip also seemed to hint that Schalke, the team he left to join Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2016, would be his preferred destination if a move back to Germany is to happen.
There is still a lot of room for Schalke in my heart. That never stops. Accordingly, my worries about this club were very big. I try to watch every single game on TV. It can only get better for the new season.
Matip has played 98 games for Liverpool, scoring three goals, and started in the Champions League final earlier this month as Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 to win a sixth European Cup.
