Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson looks set to return to full training this Tuesday ahead of the start of the 2020/21 season.
The 30-year-old has missed pre-season with The Reds through injury, but is now in contention to start on the opening day of the season against newly-promoted side Leeds.
Jurgen Klopp decided to not give any minutes to the injury-stricken midfielder in pre-season friendlies against Stuttgart, Salzburg and Blackpool but after the Blackpool game had his say on Henderson’s injury situation:
Obviously Hendo was desperate to play a few minutes but it made no real sense because he had to do an important session for him. If he would have played, ten minutes or so would have probably been okay. That made no sense so that was not possible but he trained in big parts of this week and will probably join full team training next Tuesday.

Henderson is such a vital player in Klopp’s system, it’s clear to see why the German manager has decided to not give the Englishman any minutes in pre-season, mainly to prevent the risk of aggravating his injury.
Klopp will be looking to save Henderson for the start of the Premier League campaign, as the Merseyside club start their defence of the title and it would not be a shock to see him feature against Leeds on Saturday.
