Jurgen Klopp breaks Bob Paisley’s derby record

Jurgen Klopp has broken a Merseyside derby record after his side drew 0-0 at Goodison Park, as per Liverpool FC.

The record in question is that of the longest unbeaten run in Merseyside derby history by one manager.

Klopp has overtaken Anfield legend Bob Paisley’ record of ten games unbeaten in Merseyside derbies.

In Klopp’s 11 derbies as Reds’ boss, he has seven wins and four draws, with an aggregate score of 18-5.

The goalless draw does mean, however, that the last three derbies at Everton have ended similarly, with the last derby goal scored at Goodison being Sadio Mane’s dramatic late winner in December 2016.

The most important record on show, however, was one which Liverpool already held, which is the longest unbeaten run in the history of the derby.

The Reds haven’t lost to Everton since 2010, extending their run in the latest derby from 21 games to 22.
