Jurgen Klopp delivers defiant message of unity

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered a defiant message of unity within the squad as the Reds go through perhaps their toughest spell under the German’s tutleage.

Having climbed the mountain to win the Premier League last season, backing up European and World success in doing so, this season has been a jolt back down to earth for Liverpool – leading to questions over the willingness to fight for the cause.

However, Klopp has come out fighting and delivered a steadfast warning to those who may doubt. He said (as reported by the Mirror):

We all know we came together to the top, and now we have come together here – and we will sort it together. That’s our idea of it, we all fight together now…all the boys feel that the situation in the club is pretty clear as well. The owners want me to sort the situation and I want to sort the situation with the players. That is the plan. I know we have loyalty from the players. I don’t feel that the team leaves me alone, standing in the fire.

The Reds chief also addressed the suggestion players could leave the club or not join should Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League,  insisting he would not want players who made that decision.

If there was ever a man equipped to drag this side through the current levels of adversity, it’s Klopp.

Having overcome cup final hardship in the early days of his tenure, losing out on the league by a solitary point, the European final in Kyiv – only to put things right on all fronts – Liverpool fans can be optimistic the perfect man for the job is at the helm.
