When it was reported that Juventus had scouts at Anfield last weekend, there were some suggestions that they were there to take a look at some Liverpool players but according to Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Athletic, the scouts were actually in attendance to watch Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.
The Danish star is out of contract in the summer and it looks like he will be leaving Spurs, either on a free transfer at the end of the season, or for a cut-down fee in January.
Liverpool fans, who have seen other big clubs swoop for their club’s players in the recent past, may have been worried when officials from Juve were spotted at Anfield, but it appears that any fears they may have had were unwarranted.
In fact, as reported by Simon Hughes of The Athletic, the Italian side doesn’t think they’d be able to afford any of Liverpool’s players even if they wanted to.
