Ki-Jana Hoever considering a loan move this summer

Liverpool youngster Ki-Jana Hoever is weighing up a decision on whether a loan move this transfer window will be beneficial for his progress.

The Dutchman, in a Q&A with Bleacher Report, admitted that he is weighing up the likelihood of hitting his appearance targets this upcoming season, after featuring just the three times for Jurgen Klopp’s side last year.

Many at Liverpool, including Klopp, see Hoever as one of the most exciting prospects at the club and certainly one for the future but his game time may be limited next season.

He said:

It’s important that I play games on the highest level possible. It’s hard to balance a few games at the highest level or a lot of games at a lower level. I have to figure out what’s best for me and the right answer will present itself. “I know I’m ready to play men’s football. No more youth anymore. I’d like to do the big work now. If I go on loan, [I would like to play] 30 games. If I stay at Liverpool, maybe more like 10 games.

There will be plenty of potential suitors for the young defender, who can play at centre-back or right-back, with the Championship being a potential destination for him.

There’s no doubt that the ex-Ajax youth player has an exciting and successful career ahead of him, hopefully at Liverpool.

However, right now, it makes sense for him to head out on loan to potentially get a full season of first-team games under his belt.

The physicality and grittiness of the Championship could be a good experience for the youngster and could play a big part in helping him find his feet at a rather higher level of football than he’s used too.
