Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered an update on the future of Ryan Kent, who has been linked with both Rangers and Leeds United in recent weeks.
The Reds boss spoke to the media following his team’s 3-0 friendly defeat against Napoli in Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon. While fielding questions, he was asked about the young winger’s situation this summer.
Kent had a loan spell at Rangers last season and caught the eye, prompting speculation that he could be heading back to the Scottish Premiership.

However, a number of clubs are thought to be pursuing the Liverpool man, who has featured throughout pre-season, and competition for his signature could heat up towards the end of the transfer window.
The Reds are willing to offload Kent, it seems, but not on a temporary basis. Klopp, as quoted by Neil Jones of Goal, insisted that the 22-year-old would only be sold permanently if he does indeed depart Anfield this summer.
He said:
The time is over, I think, for loans, because of his age. The players need to find a place where they can settle. A loan is not an option.
