Klopp could take 12-month break in 2022 after Reds contract expires

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could decide to take a year’s sabbatical at the end of his current Reds contract in 2022, according to ESPN.

According to the report, the German has repeatedly stated to the club his wishes to take a 12-month break when his deal expires, despite Liverpool owners hoping to extend his Anfield stay beyond 2022.

The 51-year-old claimed his first major honour in charge of the club last weekend, guiding the club to their sixth European triumph with a 2-0 win over Tottenham in Madrid.

Klopp has been linked with moves to Italy and Germany in recent weeks with Juventus and Bayern Munich respectively, however, the German denied any reports linking him with a move away to Anfield.

And it appears as if the charismatic boss may well decide to stick to his original plan by taking a year’s sabbatical in 2022, however, Liverpool chiefs will be hoping Klopp has a change of heart in the next three years.
