Klopp explains Fabinho absence

Liverpool boss Jurgan Klopp has explained the absence of summer signing Fabinho from his side so far this season, with Klopp ready to hand the Brazilian his first start for the Reds, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Liverpool signed Fabinho this summer from Monaco for £39.3million, but the Brazilian has so far played just one mine of football for Klopp’s side since his arrival.

Fabinho is now set to strat his first game for the Reds against Chelsea in Wednesday night’s third round Carabao Cup match.

Klopp spoke of how Fabinho has settled into the squad and why he is yet to predominantly feature for his side.

They always need time. They were all used to other football teams.

It is about possession. It is about spaces and defensively closing them, offensively using them.

It is just a football team with a specific way of playing. So that’s it.

They had (specific) runs in their (former) team. There was a very famous one here: Phil Coutinho, half to the left then inside and boom! Nice shot!

For this to be really dangerous you need someone else making the run on the outside on the left. Things like this you explain a little bit.

There is no time frame where you say ‘you have to do that or that’. It’s not really difficult. It’s just because it is so quick and so intense. It needs to be natural.
