Klopp full of praise for ‘important’ duo of Salah and Firmino

Following Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Southampton, yesterday Reds manager Jurgen Klopp picked out the importance of both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the way his side play, according to a report by ESPN.

The Reds moved up to third in the table following the victory as both Salah and Firmino claimed a goal and assist each during the victory.

The pair have now netted 49 goals between them in all competitions this season which proves their importance to Klopp’s side and the way they play.

If the Reds are to make it into the top four this season then it is vital that the pair of them keep up this form, with the race for a place in the Champions League hotting up.

Salah is just one Premier League goal behind Harry Kane in the race for the golden boot and one ahead of Aguero, which highlights just how good of a season the former Chelsea attacker is enjoying at Liverpool.

Klopp gave some thoughts on the duo.

Our boys are important for us, what I love is of course their skills and attitude, but the workrate is outstanding. Both get the profit from the style of play, that’s for sure as well. We play in the areas where they like to have the ball. In this strong league you cannot be third without fantastic players and yes, they are two of them.
