Klopp monitoring Reds youngster Lewis’ progress

Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis is being monitored by first-team manager Jurgen Klopp after a number of fine performances in the Under-23 side, according to Goal.

While the Reds are performing very well at senior level, Klopp is still keen to follow the progress in the academy teams as he continues to look ahead to the future.

The 18-year-old is versatile in his position, with Lewis largely operating in the left-back position, although he can also play in midfield.

He has been at the club since the age of six and has been making great strides in the club’s academy in recent times, particularly in the early stages of the current season.

Lewis has also had recognition at England youth level, having been a part of the Under-19 side that played in the European Championships earlier this summer. He also recently earned his first cap with England’s Under-20 side.

With Andrew Robertson performing so well on the left, Lewis may find it hard to emerge in the first-team. However, he’ll be desperate to continue impressing and pushing into Klopp’s plans for the future.
