Jurgen Klopp says that Joe Gomez will eventually be moved into the centre of defence for his side.
Many Liverpool fans believe that the English international should be moved into central defence to improve Liverpool’s defensive stability. Gomez has made a name for himself covering the injured Nathaniel Clyne this season at right-back.
The English youngster impressed when he first joined the Reds from Charlton but his progress was put on hold due to a long-term injury.
This season, though, Gomez has impressed hugely – making 27 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions in his bid to make the England World Cup squad.

Gomez did play in the centre of defence when at Charlton and has also been used there for the Liverpool U23s and the England U21s.
Klopp, as quoted by the Express, has confirmed now that he intends to ease Gomez into the central defensive position.
Joe Gomez is coming from the centre more, he will in the future play there. He has to improve but is more the defensive part for a full-back.
Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been rotating in Clyne’s normal position this season and have both shone. Gomez hasn’t featured in the last three Premier League games but will be hoping to win his place back for the visit of Newcastle this weekend.
