Jurgen Klopp has spoken out on his side’s title challenge, admitting that it is a “pure opportunity”.
Currently sitting top of the table with eleven games still to play, most Liverpool fans would have jumped at the chance of being in such a position at the start of the season.
The Reds have the best defence in the league, the top scorer in Mohamed Salah, and have lost just once all season – and as such, Klopp is seeing the chance to do something very special.

Speaking to the official club website, the German tactician said:
Usually in a situation where you can be champions for the first time in your life – for a lot of our supporters it would be the first time in their life, and for a lot of my players as well – it’s pure opportunity and you have to use it on the front foot, with all the things you have to always do in football.
You will never win a game without defending and being completely focused on defending. When we won games 3-0 or 4-0, we defended outstandingly well. Against Bournemouth we defended outstandingly well and scored.
We have to make sure we can really feel that and can use that because it’s an opportunity.
Liverpool will attempt to keep their charge going against Watford on Wednesday night.
