Klopp will keep Woodburn at Liverpool

Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn’s reported move to Sunderland has been blocked by his manager Jurgen Klopp, according to the Northern Echo.

Woodburn has struggled to gain much game time this season for the first team at Anfield which prompted suggestions that the 18-year-old may be on his way out of the club on loan.

Following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona earlier this month the Reds, Klopp is looking to keep the player at Anfield until the summer.

The Welsh youngster has made just the one appearance this season, which came back in September at Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.

Sunderland were keen to take the player on loan this month as they look to survive back-to-back relegations. Chris Coleman knows the player well from his time with Wales.
