Reported Liverpool transfer target Mateo Kovacic has refused to rule out a move away from Inter Milan.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are thought to be pursuing the Croatian midfielder and the player has spoken out about rumours of a departure from the San Siro
Speaking to Sky Italia whilst on international duty, the 21-year old said: “I signed a new contract some months ago and I want to stay here.
“Right now, yes [I want to stay], but you can never say never.”
These comments come after Roberto Mancini appeared to quash any chance of a deal.
Another move which may put Kovacic’s potential suitors on alert is Inter’s rumoured deal for Wolfburg’s Ivan Perisic, a potential replacement should Kovacic leave.
The Inter Milan midfielder was quick to comment on Perisic: “He is a great player and would be a bonus for any team, not just Inter.”
