Markovic arrived at Liverpool in 2014 after the Reds paid Benfica a massive £20m for the Serbian. However, he has never been able to prove his worth to the Reds and after numerous loan spells, it looks like he is finally going to leave the club on a permanent basis.
Aged 24, Markovic will still be hopeful of resurrecting his stalling career in Greece with Olympiakos, who are looking to regain their league title after AEK Athens ended their run of seven straight league victories last season.
Olympiakos are used to competing in the Champions League but due to their third-placed finish last season, they will be competing in the Europa League next season, provided they can get through the qualifiers.
Markovic is currently on tour with the Liverpool squad in America, but it looks like he’ll soon be flying to Greece to sign for his new club.
