Leeds United line up moves for Brewster and Origi

Leeds United are considering a double swoop for Liverpool strikers Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster, according to the Mirror.

It is believed that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa could look to Origi should he fail in his bid to land Odsonne Edouard from Scottish Champions Celtic.

Much has been made about Origi’s potential desire to play regular first-team football as a starter, something he hasn’t looked like securing as the champions’ front three goes from strength to strength.

The 25-year-old frontman has scored some pivotal goals in his career at Anfield, making himself somewhat of a cult hero, although he has rarely seen a prolonged run of starts, something he would be almost guaranteed at Elland Road.

The newly-promoted Premier League side are also interested in taking 20-year-old Rhian Brewster on loan for the entirety of the season as they look to bolster their attacking option but it remains to be seen whether the Reds will look to keep the youngster with the squad.

The striker, who gained plenty of plaudits during his loan spell with Swansea during the second half of 2019/20, scored the third goal in Jurgen Klopp’s side’s 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.

It seems unlikely Klopp would let both men depart in quick succession without adequate cover, especially so close to the start of the Reds season.

However, there is a possibility we could see one of the duo leave Anfield on either a permanent or temporary basis in the coming weeks and a move to Leeds for either of them would make a lot of sense.
