LOSC Lille president Gerard Lopez has revealed that Liverpool have staged talks over a possible deal to sign Nicolas Pepe this summer.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international, whose displays throughout last season have earned him plenty of admirers in the transfer window.
Pepe was excellent for Lille as they finished second in Ligue 1. He found the back of the net on 22 occasions from the right-hand side and also contributed with 11 assists for his teammates.

Liverpool appear to be among those who have been enamoured by the winger’s qualities, and Lopez has confirmed to RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi that talks have taken place regarding a possible deal to bring Pepe to Anfield.

The Reds are well stocked with wide options, but following their failure to win the Premier League last term, they could yet strengthen their front-line further.
Lopez, in his interview with RMC Sport, said:
I know that there have been talks with him, but not with us as a club. Liverpool have players in his position. I read that he could go there if players leave. I’m not fixed on Liverpool. But it’s true there are talks with agents.
