Liverpool added to list of suitors for Christian Eriksen

According to Transfer Market Web, Liverpool have joined Barcelona and Juventus in the race to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham.

Eriksen was pivotal in Tottenham’s comeback against Juventus in the Champions League last night helping Spurs salvage a 2-2 draw after falling 2-0 down after just nine minutes.

The Dane’s deal with Spurs expires in 2020 but with Liverpool are among those interested in signing him this summer.

After selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, the Reds are in need of a midfield maestro and Eriksen is considered the ideal replacement for the Brazilian, while Barcelona see Eriksen as a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta.

The former Ajax star has played 212 times for Tottenham, scoring 51 goals as well as providing 64 assists for his teammates since his arrival in English football.

Liverpool have coped with the loss of Coutinho rather well thus far but Jurgen Klopp’s failure to lure Thomas Lemar to the club does indicate that he is very interested in adding another creative midfielder to his squad but he will have to fend off the likes of Barcelona and Juventus if he is to sign Eriksen from Tottenham.
