Liverpool are among a series of clubs said to be interested in signing Atletico Mineiro defender Emerson, according to a Mundo Deportivo report.
The right-back caught the eye of many a European scout with his impressive performances in Brazil last year, and seems to be presented with quite a few options to make the move away from his home country.
Having made 23 appearances on the perimeter of the Atletico defence, the 20-year-old did enough to prove to the powers that be at football’s biggest clubs that he belongs in their ranks.
Playing for Brazil at the 2017 Toulon Tournament, the 20-year-old carries a certain amount of international pedigree at his age-group, having received five caps for his country’s U20 side.

Despite having only been an Atletico player for a little under a year (having made the switch from Ponte Preta), it seems as though the youngster could be on the move again.
And will Liverpool be his ultimate destination? It can’t be denied the Reds could use another right-back, following the decision to loan Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth. In the long-term, it may indeed make sense to add another youthful full-back, to deputise Trent Alexander-Arnold; or alternatively, to allow the West Derby-native to make the move into the midfield.
Don’t hold out too much hope though, as Mundo claims that Liverpool are in a race with – (deep breath) – Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, Arsenal, Internazionale, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Borussia Dortmund, Lille, Watford, Porto, Valencia and Real Betis are also said to be keen on the prodigy.
