Liverpool and Manchester City are set to lock horns in what promises to be an exciting game of Premier League football at Anfield.
The Reds are slowly clicking into gear under Andoni Iraola and are unbeaten in the competition.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have won every game under Enzo Maresca. However, the Cityzens were the talk of the town during the international break after their recent sanctions, which will undoubtedly be on the back of their minds.
The Liverpool faithful will surely make their feelings known during the game, but on the pitch, the Reds have named a strong lineup.
Andoni Iraola confirmed yesterday that Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo aren’t likely to be involved. Neither of them is in the squad, with Bradley Barcola, Victor Munoz and Lewis Koumas leading the line.
Koumas has really made a massive impression under Iraola and was also in fine form for Wales during the international break, so he’ll look to make it count on his first Premier League start for the club.
Dom Szoboszlai isn’t in the match-day squad, which is a surprise as there were no reports of an injury. Otherwise, the Reds’ lineup is pretty much what was expected ahead of the game.
Liverpool starting XI vs Manchester City: Alisson Becker; Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister; Victor Munoz, Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola; Lewis Koumas
