Liverpool have today been dealt an injury blow, with club captain Jordan Henderson ruled out for up to two months with a broken bone in his foot according to various reports, such as Sky Sports.
The former Sunderland man has been absent from the Liverpool fold since coming off in the second half of the opening home clash against Bournemouth.
The £20m midfielder was penciled in to return to the squad this weekend after resuming full training at Melwood this week.
However, in a cruel twist of fate, Henderson broke his foot during his first training session back from injury.
The Englishman will require an operation next week and will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks, and is a bitter blow for Liverpool, who could be without Henderson for crucial games against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

The succession of injuries Henderson has suffered are by far the biggest lay-off with which Henderson has had to contend during his career, but he is not the type of character to dwell on the disappointment.
James Milner will now deputise the Liverpool armband for the coming weeks, with Henderson now fully focussed on returning to action as quickly as possible.
