Liverpool have reportedly ‘moved up a gear’ in their chase for in-demand Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
According to Thursday’s edition of L’Equipe, cited by Sport Witness, the Reds are thought to be coming close to Lille’s €80m valuation of the wide man.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive individual campaign in France last season, scoring 22 times and providing a further 11 assists to help Lille to a second place finish in Ligue 1.
Pepe’s consistent form has attracted interest from numerous sides across Europe, with Liverpool and Tottenham both extremely keen on the Ivory Coast international.
The report claims that Tottenham remain keen on the winger, but it is Liverpool who are reportedly leading the race to sign the pacey wide man.
Pepe looks set to be on the move this summer, and a move to Anfield could be just what boss Jurgen Klopp needs in terms of bolstering his high-quality attacking options.
