Liverpool will not be signing experienced Bundesliga striker Max Kruse this summer, according to to the Liverpool Echo.
The 31-year-old is out of contract with Werder Bremen this summer and will end his three-year association with the club when his deal runs out.
Liverpool were reportedly keeping tabs on Kruse ahead of a possible free transfer to provide back up to Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
However, the report suggests that Jurgen Klopp isn’t interested in bringing the striker to Anfield over the summer.

Klopp is thought to be happy with both Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster as back up options for the time being, with the Belgian expected to extend his stay on Merseyside following the Reds’ new contract offer.
Liverpool may still add to their attacking ranks over the summer if a player becomes available at the right price and fits the squad, however, the Reds will not be signing free agent Kruse ahead of the new season.
