Liverpool are joining fellow Premier League club Arsenal and German giants Bayern Munich in the race to sign 19 year-old Juventus winger Kingsley Coman, according to the Daily Express.
Having made only 18 appearances for Juve and scoring just once since joining the Old Lady in 2014 it is reported that the Parisian wideman is looking for a move out of Turin.
Previous reports suggested the North London club had the upper hand in signing Coman, but new reports have seen the race for the former Paris Saint-Germain prospect even out.
According to French publication L’Equipe, Bayern are said to be looking at Coman as a possible replacement for World Cup winner Mario Götze, who is said to be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.
While fighting off Bayern and Arsenal may seem like a daunting task for the Reds, Liverpool have something the aforementioned clubs cannot offer: ample first-team opportunities and valuable experience for Coman.
With the likes of Thiago Alcântara and Douglas Costa at Bayern and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere at Arsenal, Coman may have a tough time getting himself into the first team at either of those clubs.
At Anfield however, Rodgers could easily give Coman a chance by starting the youngster out wide.
The teenager has already shown that playing time is what’s important to him, playing only 488 minutes in Juve’s 2014-15 campaign that saw them finish first in the Serie A, win the Coppa Italia, and end up as runners-up in the Champions League.
