Manchester United are trying to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic, report the Liverpool Echo.
The 19-year-old is already an integral part of Dortmund’s team, having played over 75 games for them already, and that has made him one of Europe’s hottest young players.
The Reds have long been admirers of the American, with him being part of the youth ranks during Jurgen Klopp’s final few months in Germany.
However, United are now looking for someone like Pulisic, and are expected to use Anthony Martial as a makeweight to sign him.

That would make it a player-plus-cash deal, but would leave the German side without having to sign a replacement and with Martial still only 22, it would be an attractive offer.
The Frenchman has seemingly fallen out with manager Jose Mourinho, who is now ready to offload the forward.
Liverpool will still be confident they can sign Pulisic, and will hope their Champions League campaign will be enough to entice him, although they’ll need to stump up a serious fee to get him.
