According to talkSPORT, Juventus have joined the race to sign Liverpool target and Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins.
Liverpool were tracking the Portuguese winger in the most recent transfer window, but they decided not to go through with the deal as they were warned off by his hefty £53.5m release clause.
Instead of signing Martins, they brought in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has ultimately failed to impress at The Reds since joining from Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

As well as Liverpool’s interest in Martins, Serie A champions, Juventus, want to sign the 22-year-old, after watching him play first hand against them in the Champions League earlier in the current campaign and are keen to bring the Portuguese international to Turin in January.
Martins came through Sporting’s youth system, which has previously produced talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani, and has played 108 games for the senior side, scoring 20 goals and getting 24 assists.
