A number of Liverpool fans are keen to see David Alaba in a Reds shirt in January, as his future continues to look up in the air.
Over the weekend, it emerged that Bayern Munich had withdrawn their offer of a new contract for the defender, opening up the prospect of an exit in the next transfer window.
Alaba’s current deal at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of this season, so January will be the final chance for them to earn any kind of fee for the 28-year-old.
A host of clubs are set to be interested in acquiring the Austrian’s signature, with Liverpool seen as a possible suitor.
Alaba has a wealth of experience, having been at Bayern for a decade, winning nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues along the way.
Throughout that time, he has often been regarded as one of the world’s best left-backs, but has more recently shone in a central role, allowing Alphonso Davies to maraud down the left flank.
Virgil van Dijk’s injury has rocked Liverpool, but Alaba could be someone who comes in and helps eradicate the issue, putting his experience and quality to good use.
These Liverpool fans are desperate to see the Bayern man join in January, with one hoping that his former team-mate Thiago Alcantara can help persuade the “world-class” defender to make the move.
