Plenty of Liverpool fans have been left feeling worried as defender Joel Matip and forward Sadio Mane missed training on Thursday as the Reds continued their preparations ahead of Sunday’s game against Chelsea.
No official reasons have been given for the pair missing Thursday’s session yet, so there is no need for huge concern at this stage as both could have simply been resting after a gruelling schedule.
Matip sat out of Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Porto, whilst Mane was substituted midway through the second half.

The pair have been ever-presents in the Reds’ league games as of late and everyone at the club will hope that they’ll both be fine to face Maurizio Sarri’s side on Sunday afternoon.
With just five league games left to play in the season, Liverpool know that they can’t afford any slip-ups in the title race so the pressure will be on them to take all three points.
If Matip and/or Mane aren’t fit for selection, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi will be their most likely replacements.
