According to the Birmingham Mail, Liverpool and Tottenham are set to battle over Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes in the summer.
Since joining Barca from Valencia in 2016, Gomes has failed to replicate the form he showed at his previous club, and with Andreas Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Paulinho, Sergi Roberto and Sergio Busquets all being ahead of him in the pecking order, he has found appearances hard to come by.
Manchester United have also been interested in Gomes’ services recently, as well as West Ham, but it looks like they’ve stopped in their pursuit of the Portuguese midfielder after loaning fellow Portugal midfielder, Joao Mario.

Liverpool sold Barcelona Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window and now The Reds are looking to persuade Gomes to come the other way in the summer.
The midfielder has made 69 for the Spanish giants and has scored three goals and assisted three for them during that time. 32 of his 69 appearances have come off of the bench and he’s only completed 17 full 90 minute games for Barca.
