Liverpool have expressed concern to FIFA as they believe that Bobby Adekanye was tapped up by Lazio prior to his signing with the Serie A club, according to a report from David Lynch of the Evening Standard.
Adekanye joined Lazio on a free transfer earlier this week but did so on a free transfer after rejecting contract offers from the Reds.
As such, Liverpool did not receive a transfer fee for the player and as reported by Lynch, Lazio are only obliged to pay £270,000 to the Reds to cover training and development costs.

Liverpool have, as per Lynch’s report, contacted FIFA to let them know that Adekanye may have been tapped up by the Serie A giants prior to his move.
Unlike senior players, who are allowed to discuss their future with other clubs when they enter the final six months of a contract, under 23’s are not afforded this privilege, but comments made by Adekanye earlier this year, where he confirmed he’d been talking to other clubs, raised eyebrows within Anfield.
Liverpool are yet to make an official complaint about the incident but that could be their next step if they choose to take the matter further.
