Liverpool are reportedly searching for a Georginio Wijnaldum replacement after his departure to PSG this month.
The Reds have already been linked with the likes of Saúl Ñíguez, Houssem Aouar, and Youri Tielemans.
With the Euros providing a fantastic opportunity to scout further talent, it could be some time before a new signing.
Liverpool will no doubt want to evaluate their options carefully before splashing out over the next few months.
This also means it may be some time until we find the right player to take over Wijnaldum’s mantel.
However, according to the Sunday Post, Liverpool may have identified the right replacement…
According to the newspaper, the Reds are interested in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn this summer.
The Scotsman has been an impressive player for the Villans, with him currently featuring for Scotland at the Euros.
Villa currently value McGinn at £20million, making him a realistic option in midfield this summer in comparison.
The likes of Tielemans, Aouar, and Ñíguez would all cost an extortionate amount if the club were to make a move.
McGinn provides a great price for the player that he is, with him a regular in Villa’s midfield.
With Scottish teammate Andy Robertson already accompanied with McGinn, it could be a perfect match.
Time will tell as to who and when Liverpool will address for the whole left by Wijnaldum in the squad.
However, there is no denying that the club has identified some more than adequate replacements.
