Liverpool identify perfect Georginio Wijnaldum replacement in £45m French midfielder

This summer transfer window could see a real change in the current Liverpool squad.

The Reds have had a tough campaign so far and have struggled for form after a number of injuries.

With the transfer window just a round the corner, we will likely see the Reds dip into the market to bolster their squad.

Rumours over Georginio Wijnaldum’s future have persisted this season with the Dutchman likely to leave the club.

If that is the case, then the Reds will need to find an adequate replacement for his services.

According to Calciomercato, as cited by The Anfield Buzz, Liverpool have identified Lyon’s Houssem Aouar as the perfect replacement…

Aouar has attracted plenty of attention over the last few seasons with Arsenal even attempting to sign him last summer.

The Frenchman is just 22-years-old but is already growing to become an impressive player.

This season Aouar has 5 goals and 3 assists after 26 Ligue 1 appearances from central midfield.

Wijnaldum has grown to become such an important player under Jurgen Klopp and it will be tough to replace him.

However, Aouar seems like a capable replacement who has a great skill set in a similar position in midfield.

With a current market value of £45million according to Transfermarkt, Aouar won’t come cheap in the summer.

This may lead to a few more departures from the club to raise funds but a player of Aouar’s ability is worth it.
