Liverpool are already set for an interesting transfer window.
The Reds ended their season with Champions League qualification despite plenty of setbacks throughout the campaign.
Just three days later and the club already looks set to secure their first signing of the summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are just hours away from paying the release clause for Ibrahima Konaté.
This means that on-loan centre-back Ozan Kabak will go back to parent club Schalke 04.
Due to this, it is unlikely that the club will sign Kabak as reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg…
Kabak enjoyed a good spell on loan with the Reds and performed well when called upon.
Sadly for the Turkish international, it doesn’t appear as though the club is interested in signing him permanently.
As mentioned in the report cited by LFCTransferRoom on Twitter, both RB Leipzig and Leicester City are interested.
A move to Leipzig would make sense given Liverpool’s supposed deal for Konate.
This would essentially work for all parties will Schalke needing to offload the defender, and Leipzig set to be without Konate.
A move to Leicester could be harmful for the Reds as though know what a talented defender Kabak is.
It seems more likely that Kabak would move to Leipzig with the German club needing to find a replacement.
