Liverpool are thought to be leading the race to sign highly-rated Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde this summer.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, relayed in an article by Sport Witness, the Reds are thought to be ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign the defender, who already has his ‘bags packed’ for a switch to England.

The 16-year-old reportedly has his heart set on a move to England, however, Barcelona are thought to be doing all they can to keep the player on the books at the Nou Camp this summer.
The Reds are favourites to sign the teenager due to Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban, making a move to Merseyside much more straight forward.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to provide cover to Andy Robertson this summer, with Real Betis’ Junior Firpo being strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
Although Balde would more than likely be placed into the academy if he joins the Reds this summer, the defender has been tipped to become a future star, so may prove to end up being Robertson’s replacement in years to come.
