Liverpool are in a good position to sign Uruguayan youngster Nicolas Acevedo, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Reds are understood to have sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old on international duty, at the South American Under-20 Championship in Chile.
A versatile player, Acevedo can be deployed in both defence and midfield, but may be concentrated to one particular spot as he gets older.
Interestingly, the prodigy is currently contracted to – Liverpool! But not the Merseyside one.

Turning out instead for Liverpool of Montevideo, it seems as though Jürgen Klopp’s side have company in the race for Acevedo.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Udinese, and (perhaps bizarrely) Championship leaders Norwich City are also monitoring the defensively minded teenager, who has played the bulk of his minutes in central defence.
Expected to be named in the starting XI for his team’s clash with the Argentine kids on Thursday, it appears as though Liverpool (Scouse version) representatives will be in attendance.
