Former Reds player Steve Nicol has had his say on what Liverpool’s bosses should do with Dejan Lovren.
Speaking on ESPN, the former defender thinks that Lovren is worth £25 million but doesn’t think he should be kept at the club as he encourages those behind the scenes to make a deal happen.
Lovren has been priced at £25 million amid interest from clubs around Europe, including AC Milan.
The Croatian has done a lot for the Reds during his time at the club but he has now been overtaken in the pecking order by Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
Nicol has given his opinion when asked if Liverpool should keep him:
No. You have Gomez and you have Matip. Lovren’s been a good servant to Liverpool. The guys got a good heart and has given everything for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with Matthijs de Ligt, who wouldn’t be cheap and another arrival at the back would spell bad news for Lovren.
