Liverpool linked with move for Sead Kolasinac

According to Charlie Phillippe of the Express, Liverpool are targeting Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac as a replacement for Spaniard Alberto Moreno.

The Liverpool man is often praised for his attacking qualities but has been criticised for constantly leaving gaps at the back.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge recently said of the left-back:

Moreno can look good going forward at times, but positionally he leaves us wide open. He doesn’t read when to bomb forward and when to sit, and he’s so rash in his decision-making.

German newspaper Bild reported that Jurgen Klopp is after the 22-year-old who currently plays for Bundesliga side Schalke.

The player is contracted until 2017 but if he fails to pen a new deal in the summer, Schalke will be forced to sell or risk losing the player on a free transfer.

The fact that Jurgen Klopp’s assistant Zeljko Buvac is Bosnian may prove important in persuading the player to make the switch from the Veltins Arena to Merseyside.

Kolasinac, who has played 18 of Schalke’s Bundesliga games this season, can also play as a defensive midfielder if required, but his natural position is at left-back.
