Liverpool are interested in completing a summer move for midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Sky Germany.
The Reds are believed to be one of a host of top clubs keen on the Borussia Monchengladbach star, with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid also in the mix.
Zakaria has been mentioned as a potential Liverpool target in the past, but their interest never seemed to be too concrete, but Sky Germany believe that the Reds are now potentially in the mix to sign him.
They also report that the 23-year-old is valued at £43 million by Gladbach.

While Zakaria is a good young player who is having a positive influence on his current team, I don’t see the need for Liverpool to sign him.
In Fabinho, the Reds already have one of the best holding midfielders in the business, even though he has suffered a dip in form of late.
Zakaria and Fabinho have both averaged 2.1 tackles per game in the league this season, while the former (1.6) only edges the latter (1.2) when it comes to interceptions.
Fabinho (0.8) makes marginally more key passes per match than Zakaria (0.5), going to show that there isn’t a huge amount between the pair.
At 26, Fabinho is a long-term prospect who I could see being in the Liverpool team for six or seven years, so unless Zakaria is happy to be a backup, I don’t see a scenario where both are needed, certainly for the time being at least.
