Liverpool are one of five clubs interested in signing David Alaba next summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The Bayern Munich legend could leave the club at the end of the season, after his deal expires with the Bundesliga champions.
Liverpool have been linked with Alaba in the past, with a January move mooted, and they are seemingly still in the mix.
Romano claims that the Reds have contacted the defender’s agent regarding a summer move, but does state that Real Madrid are the favourites to sign him.

Alaba is a world-class player who has been at the top level for around a decade now, winning nine Bundesliga titles with Bayern, not to mention two Champions League crowns.
He may be turning 29 later this year, but he is still a wonderful player who would bring experience and versatility to the Liverpool team.
Alaba has switched from being one of the world’s best left-backs to an outstanding centere-back, while he has also played in midfield for Austria, for whom he has won 73 caps for.
Madrid look like the front-runners, however, so Jurgen Klopp may have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
