Liverpool have signed Elijah Dixon-Bonner as the 16-year-old has taken to Instagram to confirm.
Dixon-Bonner was offered the chance to stay in London with Arsenal, but decided to join Liverpool instead. Arsenal will be nominally compensated.
Dixon-Bonner joins Bobby Adekanye and Brooks Lennon as those signed for the youth system this busy summer. Adekanye comes from Barcelona whilst Lennon joins from Real Salt Lake.
The midfielder hopes to join the next crop of players to follow the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe from the youth into the first team within the next five years.
Jerome Sinclair scratched the surface of Brendan Rodgers’ squad at the end of last season after Jordan Rossiter made a start and scored in the Capital One Cup.
Sheyi Ojo looks set to push his way around the first team or secure a loan away from the club.
Liverpool’s youth system appears to be stocked and ripe for promotion over the next few years.
