Liverpool are set to launch a club record bid in the hope of securing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, the Mirror reports.
The central-midfielder impressed at the Bundesliga’s surprise package this season as he made 32 appearances, scoring eight goalsand setting up another eight for his teammates.
Money may not be enough to convince Leipzig to sell, with the club already being extremely well off. The report claims that the Leipzig Cheif Exec. had branded cashing in on Keita as ‘irresponsible’ due to Leipzig preparing to fight in the Champions League for the first time.

However, Jurgen Klopp is keen to add the midfielder to his squad and Liverpool are set to test the resolve of the Bundesliga side my making a club record bid for him.
Keita joined Leipzig at the start of last season, moving from Salzburg, where he had made over 80 appearances in two seasons with the German side. Keita has featured for his country, Gambia, 18 times, and is yet to record his first international goal.
Leipzig finished as runners-up in last year’s Bundesliga, losing out on the title to Bayern Munich.
