Liverpool show interest in signing Wolves’ Owen Otasowie

Liverpool are one of the clubs to show an interest in signing Wolves’ Owen Otasowie, according to a report from the Metro.

Otasowie is yet to play for the Wolves’ first-team but his impressive performances at U23 level have apparently caught the eyes of scouts from the likes of Arsenal and PSG, as well as the Reds.

The 18-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and as such, he’ll be a free agent, meaning if any club does sign him from under the nose of Wolves, they’ll only need to pay a compensation fee to the Midlands-based side.

Liverpool’s philosophy of trying to sign the best young players, from England and from abroad, shows no sign of slowing down, as proven by the arrivals of Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg in the summer.

If Liverpool’s scouts believe that Otasowie, who can play in defence or in midfield, is a worthwhile signing, then the Reds should back their judgement and bring the player in as it would be a very low-risk move.
