Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Liverpool’s website, has provided an injury update as Liverpool prepare to face Crystal Palace hoping to keep their four point lead over Manchester City.
Klopp has said Wijnaldum and Alexander-Arnold will be “close” to being available for tomorrow’s game,
For both it will be really, really close for tomorrow. I don’t want to close any doors before anybody tells me I have to.
The Crystal Palace fixture comes too soon for Dejan Lovren as he still needs time to recover from his hamstring injury suffered against Wolves,
He [Lovren] is much better than he was but that’s a muscle thing and needs time.
Klopp is confident the Croat will be involved versus Leicester.
Like Lovren, Joe Gomez will not be involved as continues his recovery from a lower leg fracture,
Joe, no – improving, improving, improving. We all hope it will be quick from now on but don’t exactly know.
There is a boost for Liverpool as Adam Lallana and Joel Matip will be in contention to start,
Adam trained yesterday and the day before yesterday, so he should be in contention… Joel trained completely normally for 10 days, which is good.
A win would put Liverpool 7 points ahead Manchester City, who travel to Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
