Liverpool want to sign Manchester City player if they are relegated

Liverpool are expected to remain active in the transfer market in 2027 as they aim to bolster Andoni Iraola’s squad.

The Reds made four new signings during the summer transfer window and were keen to add more players before the deadline, but those deals never materialised.

In terms of their midfielders, players are expected to come and go in the upcoming transfer window, making it an interesting time for the Anfield faithful.

And now, if reports in England are to be believed, the Reds are keeping a close eye on Rayan Cherki after Manchester City’s allegations came to light.

Liverpool ready to approach Rayan Cherki

The Reds wanted to sign Cherki a year ago before completing a move for Florian Wirtz, so their interest should come as no surprise.

However, TEAMtalk report that both Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to approach the gifted Frenchman if Manchester City are relegated to the Championship.

An excerpt from the article reads, “Liverpool transfer news as shock Florian Wirtz departure claim emerges.

“Liverpool and Arsenal would be among the clubs to approach Cherki if City were relegated to the Championship as part of their FFP sanctions.”

Smarter and more qualified people will decide if City are sanctioned. But hypothetically, if Cherki becomes available and is willing to make the move to Anfield, Liverpool should absolutely jump at the possibility of snapping him up.
