Manchester United are currently leading Liverpool in a race to sign 14-year-old goalkeeper Conner Byrne whose from Northern Ireland, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
The youngster at the age of just 14 has just made his first-team debut for his side Glenavon in the Irish League which put a number of Premier League clubs on alert.
The school-boy who plays for Northern Ireland under 16s was already on Manchester United’s radar and they remain confident of signing the player.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all keeping tabs on the player with Liverpool believed to be just behind United in the race.

Glenavon chairman Adrian Teer said:
There has already been a lot of interest in Conner from a number of cross-channel clubs. He is a great prospect.
With Liverpool’s current problems in goal they are looking for alternatives although Byrne at the age of just 14 would be a long way off from featuring for the club in the Premier League.
