According to a report from ESPN, who cite TalkSPORT, Manchester United are set to enter the race to sign Liverpool’s Emre Can next summer.
The sought-after midfielder’s contract comes to an end next year, and although Liverpool have been trying to renegotiate a new contract with him for a while now, it is understood that he wants to see what other options are available before signing a deal that would likely see him stay at Anfield for the next three to four years.

If Can does decide to leave, then Manchester United will have some stiff competition for his signature, as Serie A giants Juventus were heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old during the summer. They are expected to reignite their interest during the January transfer window.
Michael Carrick is set to call an end to his professional football career at the end of this season, and Jose Mourinho feels that Can would be the perfect long-term replacement.
