Spanish outlet Don Balon are reporting that Lionel Messi wants Ousmane Dembele to stay at the club, even if that means switching to a new role.
Dembele has been linked with a switch away from the Nou Camp, after failing to settle after his move from Borussia Dortmund.
This is also amid rumours Atletico star Antoine Griezmann is set to move to Barcelona, a move that would see Dembele’s place in the side be relegated to the bench.

However, Messi believes that Dembele could be a good impact player from the subs bench, with Barca’s squad lacking some depth.
Liverpool could be a viable destination for the Frenchman however, with the Reds reportedly interested in signing Dembele.
Money is not an issue for Liverpool, after selling Phillipe Coutinho to Barca in the January transfer window. Dembele would slot nicely into the Liverpool side, who could win the Champions League this month against Barca’s rivals Real Madrid.
